about

Recorded, engineered, and mixed throughout the months of October 2015 to April 2016 in Portland, OR - this is Pacific Ragtime.

What is Pacific Ragtime? The band coined the term a handful of years ago after being asked all-to-often what genre they preferred to classify themselves as. After years of digging through old jazz, country-blues, early rock, and ragtime records - one comes to the conclusion that these old styles tend to be regional. That is very much the case with Pacific Ragtime.
Proudly based in the City of Roses, Jacob Miller and the Bridge City Crooners borrow from a well of influences, new and old - coast to coast. Though the music carries the raucous enthusiasm of late ‘20s hot jazz to the jump blues and rock of the early 1950s, the young outfit considers their hearts and inspiration firmly rooted at home. It is here they began, and continue to cultivate a sound that can be heard in night clubs, theaters, backyards, and street corners. A sound that is both reminiscent of the past, and applicable to a contemporary setting. Whether you burn this disc out, or listen to it a single time - thank you. We hope it fills you with a sense of contentment, and nostalgia that our musical inspirations have gifted us.

Jacob Miller and the Bridge City Crooners are proud to present "Pacific Ragtime;” music for the new depression.
